What we process

When you submit the contact form, we process your name, email address, optional phone number, and message content so we can respond to your inquiry about data pipeline consulting services. We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking on this website.

When you use the cookie banner, we store your accept or reject choice in your browser’s local storage under the key datafield-consent-preference. That record exists only to remember your choice; it is not shared with third parties.

Lawful basis and purpose

We process inquiry data based on your request to engage with us (a preparatory step to a potential contract) and our legitimate interest in operating a professional consulting business. POPIA requires that processing be adequate, relevant, and not excessive for the purpose.

Retention

Inquiry messages are kept only as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, to support the engagement and any legal record-keeping obligations. We do not add casual inquiries to marketing lists.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask for correction of inaccurate records, object to processing where applicable, and request deletion of information that is no longer required. To exercise these rights, email info@datafield.digital with enough detail for us to locate your inquiry.

Security and sharing

Inquiries are received by our same-domain form handler at /api/inquiry on datafield.digital. We do not sell personal information. Hosting or email providers may process data solely to deliver the site and our replies.

Cross-border transfers

If infrastructure providers process data outside South Africa, we apply safeguards consistent with POPIA section 72 where applicable.

Complaints

You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) if you believe your information has been processed unlawfully.
